What
are the check-in times for flights? |
| |
|
 |
Check-in
counters for our customers airlines normally open at least
two hours before the flight's scheduled departure time in
the Passenger Terminal Building. In addition, our In Town
Check-In facility is available for passengers travelling on
most of our customers airlines in both Airport Express Line
Hong Kong & Kowloon Stations. |
| |

|
 |
What
are the closing times for checking in? |
| |
|

|
Check-in
desks at the Passenger Terminal Building (Airport) are usually
closed 40 minutes before each flight's schedule time in order
to prepare necessary flight documentation. For In Town Check
In at the Airport Express stations, check-in desks are closed
earlier at 90 minutes before the flight schedule departure
time to allow for transportation of your bags. Our advice
is, whatever the closing times, it is better to check-in early
to avoid congestion at immigration and security screening. |
| |

|
 |
How
much check-in luggage can I take on a flight? |
| |
|
 |
The
amount of check-in baggage depends on the class of travel
and destinations. There are no "hard-and-fast" rules but your
entitled allowance can be located on your ticket. Look at
the "allow" column to find out the baggage allowance, which
is either denoted in kgs, or in pieces (if itinerary involves
the either North or South America). |
| |

|
 |
Are
there any items I should not take on the flight? |
| |
|
 |
There
are items which pose safety risks and are not allowed either
in the checked baggage as well as the hand baggage. Prohibited
items include, for example, Dangerous Goods (DGs), details
of which can be found described on the passenger ticket. There
may also be other restricted items due to regulations at your
destinations, so we advise you to check with all relevant
authorities and airlines before journey commences to avoid
disappointment and inconvenience. |
| |

|
 |
How
much hand baggage am I allowed? Is there any size restriction? |
| |
|
|
To
ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers inside the
aircraft cabin, there is a restriction on the size of hand
baggage that passengers can carry. In Hong Kong, departing
passengers are allowed to carry one piece of hand baggage
up to a dimension of 22" * 14" * 9". Please note there are
variations on both the weight and number of pieces of hand
baggage you may carry, due to different airline policies,
and the class you travel in. |
| |

|
 |
I
have lost my baggage, where can I get help? |
| |
|
|
We
are sorry to learn that your baggage has failed to arrive
with your flight. Should you have filed a claim with us upon
your arrival, our baggage service unit will contact you to
update the tracing progress and deliver the bag to you as
soon as it arrives. You are also most welcome to contact us

|
 |
At
what time should I board my flight? |
| |
|
 |
Boarding
usually starts 40 minutes before the flight schedule time
of departure and the boarding gate will close 10-15 minutes
before the departure time, after which passengers may be offloaded
from the flight. To avoid missing your flight, you are advised
to allow sufficient time to board the aircraft in time, bearing
in mind the need to go through passport control and security
screening. Bear in mind the position of your boarding gate,
which may be quite a distance from Immigration and security. |

|
 |
